Free From Strings

How many times have you listened to someone else’s opinion and then formed your opinion solely on another’s opinion?

How many times have you been swayed into a new way of thinking (about someone else) just from a simple statement from someone and you have no other evidence to support the statement made?

How many times have you felt strongly about something and because a good friend or multiple people started speaking contrary to your feelings you changed your stance?

Then your life just might be dangling on strings like a puppet…ready to dance as directed. Keep your hands free so you can dance freely.  Know what you know or research to clarify and determine otherwise as necessary.

Striving Still

Filed under: happiness,self realization,Writing — willia28 @ 7:11 pm

David Cottrell wrote a book titled “12 Choices…That Lead to Your Success”.  This book discussed choices we all must make in our daily lives.  Although I could go on and quote the whole book as it is an awesome read, I am going to quote a few things for this post.   He stated “Our challenge is to live our character, action and investment choices so naturally that we make the best choices almost subconsciously.”  He also recited psychologist Abraham Maslow’s quote, “The human race is the story of men and women selling themselves short.” Wow! What a major collection of thoughts in those two lines of words! Why do we often find ourselves struggling to keep living life as we intend to live it? I intend to live my best life, but sometimes things, thoughts, situations get in the way. Yet, I believe I should be able to live my best life even in the midst of those things, thoughts and situations. That is much easier said. However, I strive.

Current Position

I wonder what life would be like if we spent more time focusing on making our current position better than focusing on what is not right and what should be right with our current position?

Life and Times of You

Think about the last 5 years of your life. Expectations, Memories, Goals. Now, think about the upcoming 5 years of your life. What do you want to do to resolve new expectations, create memories, and accomplish goals to look back on when the next 5 year moment comes? Plan it, Write it, Accomplish it! Know where you are going, how you are going to get there and when you want to be there to get it.
“There are those who travel and those who are going somewhere. They are different yet they are the same. The success has this over its rivals: He knows where he is going.” Mark Caine

Each One Teach One

I just watched the movie The Book of Eli. It is amazing to me how a movie can sometimes have so little in it, so much in it and just enough in it. Although it was never said in the movie, the very end made me immediately think, “Each one teach one”. Not because I believe in one person doing the same thing another person does or did (and that is not at all what I received from the movie), but because I believe when one does what they know they believe in their heart to do, then another can’t help but be inspired to do what is in their heart to do. Isn’t that what we are all meant to do? Live based on what is in our hearts to do? What God gives US to do? If we each do this and if there is one (or more) that seem to get inspired, then there is one more to carry on the great message. Each one teach one. Teach to do what is there. See it, know it, carry it, do it, live it. You automatically teach as a result.

Don’t Change Your Best

Don’t change who you are inside because of what others do. The best of you often gets tried by the temptation to yield to imperfect balances in the world of life. Remember who you are, what you are made of, why you are who you are, and keep your Spirit lifted. It is too easy to allow ourselves to give in to life’s pressures and become just like what we don’t like or worse, null and void. Stay focused, true to your heart; true to God. Let the other stuff/people work themselves out. After all, none of us are perfect..we are all working our way through. We just work at different angles and perspectives. Some of us are struggling to be our best, others are struggling to continue to be at our best, and some just don’t know how just yet. The point is, aren’t most of us looking to be our best? Those who don’t care are a different conversation, thus a different kind of need. Still, all have needs. All have purpose.

YEARN FOR

Filed under: Poetry — willia28 @ 4:20 pm

A daily yearning for

Life, laughter abound with
All is much sweeter with
For lack of creates less than

Soothes and comforts
Caresses and Blesses
An impression of Grandeur

Its’ bites and fights
Highs and Lows
A basket of mixed action
Yet, is it what everyone wants?

Blooming and withering
As an annual flower
Ever returning in spite of…
The nature of it, prevails all
For it is what everyone needs

O taste and indulge
But, understand when
It requires of thee wisdom
What Love is…
Will it be?
…God

MY SHADOW DREAMS

Living in its shadow,

I see it coming

Though time slips away,

Intrinsically, I know it is real;

I feel the warmth of sweet caress

Though yet to be attained

Intrinsically, I know it is real;

Living in its shadow

I see the tip of its peak

Though the height makes me squinch

Intrinsically, I know it is real;

When I see one achieve

That which they own,

Intrinsically, I know it is real;

Living in its shadow

I even hear the sound

In the breeze of my thoughts;

I wonder why I tarry?

It’s too real to wait

I can see, feel, taste, hear it

Yet the touch is too far away

My shadow dreams are waiting

Can you hear the sound?

I know;  It Is

Life Fairy Tales

I once wrote the following poem.  What does it say to you?

LIFE FAIRY TALES

 The hustle of nine to five,

Daily breaking through people barriers;

Feelings, deadlines, expectations, and differences

Where is my fairy tale?

 The bustle of after five,

Daily regularity of to do lists;

Cooking, cleaning, preparing for next day

Where is my fairy tale?

 In the middle of it all, she came;

Looking in my eyes with the sweetest smile, asking to replay a simple joy of jumping like a frog

We played; We laughed; We hugged;

The freshness of it all was a thankful blessing to behold,

There was my fairy tale

 In the middle of it all, he came,

Looking in my eyes with love anew, reminding me of the things we still can do,

We talked; We flirted; We reminisced;

It was just like the first time

There was my fairy tale

 In the middle of it all, they came,

Speaking to me with familiar tone and laughter,

Reminding me of the things from past to present,

Reminiscing about the way things used to be

It was a reunion

There was my fairy tale

 In the middle of real life, We live

Happily in our moments; Ever After
